The Klairs Scrub Review You Needed, What is Your Choice?

by Wendy Kim on Nov 20, 2019

Let's talk about scrubs today. Some might say, "I don't want no scrub, a scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me" (just like the song by TLC), but for years and years, scrub has been one of the most popular type of exfoliator out in the market. It is probably how we were all introduced to 'exfoliation'. It is easy to use, it is effective to instantly remove a layer of dead skin cells, and no matter what skin type you have, you know it'll get the work done. And among facial scrubs, sugar scrub products are the most popular and seeked for thanks to sugar's hydrating, gentle and mineral-rich properties. klairs-scrub-review-insert-image-2No wonder, Klairs not only has one but TWO different types of sugar scrub exfoliators! The Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish and the Youthful Glow Sugar MaskWith the Youthful Glow Sugar Mask recently joining the exfoliator category, I had to address the elephant in the room. The two look very similar in size and shape and they are both a sugar based scrubs, so how are they exactly different?

The Klairs Scrub Review, How are They Different?

They both share sucrose (sugar) as the main ingredient and it is the granules of sugar that will actually exfoliate the skin. So despite the difference between the two, you know that you'll be getting a hydrating exfoliation experience. Now on with the difference! The biggest difference you'll notice between these two products is the colors. The Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish comes in a dark brown color with a little more visible granules of sugar while the Youthful Glow Sugar Mask comes in a light pink color with a sherbet-like texture. And once you open it, you'll notice a different note of scent between the two. While the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish emits a warm brown sugar scent, the Glow Sugar Mask has a hint of the fresh grapefruit. If you are already attracted to either one just based on the color and the scent, good for you and go for it! But there's more to the story. Based on their different ingredient list, texture and what you can expect after use, you'll end up leaning towards the one than the other!klairs-scrub-review-insert-image-1

Buff away blackheads with Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish

If you are looking for a scrub that can help you with deep pore cleansing, The Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish will be the one for you. The black sugar granules is there to not only remove dead skin cells, but to effectively melt away pore-clogging debris and oil even with a single use. And that explains why the black sugar polish has been on the favorites list among those with oily skin for a while now. The best way to use this facial polish is to specifically use it on areas where you struggle with excessive oil and blackheads (and that will mostly be around your nose, your forehead and your chin). With circular motions, gently massage the scrub onto damp skin and rinse away with lukewarm water.Additional Tip! If your skin feels extra sensitive, pair the facial polish with the cleansing oil you have at home! Blend them well and use it as a more gentle exfoliator!

Sugar and glow is everything, you know: Klairs Youthful Glow Sugar Mask

If you love grapefruit or raspeberry, you'll probably love this one! This will be the ideal scrub if you are looking for a scrub that does more than just a scrub. The Youthful Glow Sugar Mask will serve you as a wash-off mask, a scrub and an exfoliating cleansing balmLearn how grapefruit and raspberry seed will benefit your skin!☞ Why Klairs Youthful Glow Sugar Mask Will Be Your Next ObsessionCompared to the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish, the granules appear to be smaller and leaves a more hydrating finish on the skin after use. Any skin type will enjoy a nice hydrating scrub but especially if your skin is more sensitive and dry, the Glow Sugar Mask will feel more easygoing on the skin. Additional Tip! If you wish to use it as a exfoliating wash-off mask, apply a nice thin layer all over face (or especially around the t-zone), leave it on for 5-15 minutes and rinse of with warm water.
