by Claudia Christin on Feb 08, 2022

It is going to be A-mzaing and will be the holy grail night cream to restore elasticity and balance!  We all want to look young for as long as we can, and we knew that by taking care of our skin with the right skincare products, we can help maintain our skin looking plump, young, and bright. What is the one ingredient that pops in your mind that can do it all? For us, it’s vitamin A a.k.a the retinoids! Retinoids are the kind of ingredients and we have discussed it in detail in our previous post that you can check out here. But, let’s review them a little bit here and talk in more detail about two of the most common derivatives that we can find in cosmetics. By Wishtrend has launched, their first-ever vitamin A skincare product, the Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream! WISHTREND_Vitamin A_001 Benefits of retinoids/vitamin A- Increase cellular turnover- Helps control acne (unclogged pores)- Stimulate collagen and elastin production (decrease fine lines)- Suppress sebum production- Fades hyperpigmentation- Antioxidant Who is it for?You can start using your vitamin A products when you have an issue with acne (mild-moderate) or those who want to prevent and reverse signs of aging. You can start using your retinoids as long as you have checked the following criteria:- I use a gentle cleanser- I use moisturizer and I use it diligently- I use sunscreen every day (with no doubt) If you checked all the statements above, you may want to ask yourself if you have any of the following concerns:- Skin texture (fine lines or clogged pores)- Mild acne- Hyperpigmentation- Dull skin If you think you have any of the above concerns, you are very welcome to start on your retinoid journey! Not all of them are created the sameThe only active form of retinoids that our skin cells recognize and respond to is retinoic acid and it is only available through doctor’s prescription.  The other derivatives such as retinol, retinaldehyde , and granactive retinoids (HPR) are the other milder derivatives that need to be converted to retinoic acid for it to be able to work. While they may not be as powerful, they are readily available in OTC skincare. Let’s now talk about two of the most common vitamin A derivatives we see on OTC skincare. What makes retinaldehyde different from retinol?

How can you layer them?

Here are some of the best pair of ingredients that you can look for when you are thinking about layering your retinaldehyde/retinol with other ingredients: WISHTREND_Vitamin A_003
