How to care the skin in Autumn

We have talked much about skincare for summer and winter, but not about skincare in autumn. Do we need to change our skincare routine in this transition season?

Actually, our skin needs may be different each day and even more in different weather. Hence we may even need to adjust our skincare everyday according to our needs during that season.

Some simple changes during this season can do wonders for your skin. We are going to guide you through a general autumn skincare guideline

a. Are there any specific skincare ingredients we need to seek for autumn?

Yes! The transition in weather and temperature between summer and autumn might affect our skin.

Our skin has gone through a stressful moment in summer from all the heat and sweat. Meanwhile, throughout the transition weather, dryer air might give it a shock that leads to skin barrier disruption, thus causing dryness and sensitive skin.

Look for ingredients that could give you extra hydration and moisture as well as to prevent dryness and irritation. Ceramide, glycerin, honey, snail, and hyaluronic acid can be one of the options that you should have in your shelf for autumn. It locks in moisture and help your skin prepare for the colder winter season

Product recommendation:

  • Dear, Klairs Fundamental Water Gel Cream

  • COSRX Full Fit Propolis Light Cream

c. Is it important to exfoliate in autumn?

Yes! Doing exfoliation once to twice a week in any season of your life is great for dull and textured skin. You might think that since the summer is gone, exfoliation won’t be as necessary as it was during summer.

However, if you put aside exfoliation during autumn, you might notice that your skin is still looking dull and dry even though you have layered lots of good skincare to your skin. This is because the build ups of dead skin cells are not being taken care of properly so that your skincare cannot penetrate to your skin.
