by Lorena Jimenez on Jun 07, 2019

Having blackheads is definitely not one of those things that we wish to relate to. Yet, most of us, l say most, to not say all, just in case any of you is one of those magical and mesmerizing unicorn people that happen to not have to deal with any blackheads.5 Step Routine on How to Fight Blackheads Insert Image 1In that case, lucky you, half of the world including me low key envies you a tad. And by a tad, l actually mean a lot but always in a good way so, my dear lucky unicorn you can skip this post and go live your blackhead-free life ;)For the rest of us, the not so lucky ones, still unicorns of course, but unicorns with pesky blackheads, definitely stay put because today we will be learning all about how to deal with, take care and eliminate those blackheads with these product recommendations.

It all starts with cleansing

It is commonly said that all paths lead to Rome, and alike all skincare starts with cleansing. There is no set routine that will work without cleansing. Here is where you might get it partly wrong though, because all routines do start with cleansing BUTTTT, and this is a big but, not all cleansing has to be done with cleanser itself. There are many ways to cleanse the skin, soaps, foams, toners, cleansing waters, even regular water or like in this specific case oils. Cleansing is always super duper important but not all products work the same in every skin concern and because of that for the specific concern of blackheads a foam might not be the choice that brings the best results.

Why use oil?

Oil reaches deep into the pores and because oil adheres to oil much better than any water-based or even cleanser based product it will be able to capture that pesky oil clogging your pores. Oil befriends oil very easily, making all that sebum want to come outside to play together that is why if you want to vanish those strong headed blackheads you should go for an oil.

Why the [Klairs] Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil?

Well, there are many reasons, the first one that it is very deep cleansing oil that cleanses the skin wonderfully without irritation and almost no remaining residue (product residue is something that should definitely be avoided if you suffer from blackheads).[Klairs] Gentle Black Deep Cleansing OilBesides that, this oil also has ingredients that help control the sebum production and rebalance not only the skin barrier but also the oil-water levels. A good oil-water balance and a healthy sebum production are the best ways to reduce and even eliminate blackheads in the long run since your pores will be less likely to get blocked, to begin with.

The winning combo

The black deep cleansing oil is already a great start but if you are really looking to reduce and treat blackheads exfoliation shall never be forgotten. For that one of our all-time winning teams to fight congestion, blackheads, and even whiteheads has been the [Klairs] Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil + [Klairs] Gentle Black Deep Sugar Facial Polish.[Klairs] Gentle Black Deep Sugar Facial Polish. With this combo, the cleansing oil makes sure to soften the clogged waste and sebum within the pores and deep cleanse the skin while the facial polish takes care of exfoliating and accelerating the cell turnover. Another much-needed part to conquer that blackhead fight. To top it off, having black sugar as the main ingredient this product not only has physical exfoliating properties but also chemical ones, being black sugar a natural source of AHA that helps decongest, exfoliate and hydrate the skin.Do not worry if you have sensitive skin since both products are extremely mild and work wonderfully even in delicate skin types.

It All Starts With Cleanser, But it Always Follows With Toner

Toner is also another important step. If you are a long term Wishtrender you know that toner is an essential product to rehydrate and rebalance the skin, this is no different even if you are fighting blackheads. Many people enjoy highly hydrating toners as there are indeed magnificent but if you are dealing with blackheads besides good hydration you should keep in mind that it is better to stay away from certain types of oils.[Klairs] Supple Preparation Facial TonerThat is why my recommendation today will be the [Klairs] Supple Preparation Facial Toner because besides being catered to sensitive skin being free of fragrances since it is also free of any essential oils it will help replenish and rebalance the skin without any possible surprise ingredients that might cause any type of pore-clogging situation.

Sheet Mask Are Not Only for Hydration

Sheet masks are widely known for providing hydration, but what many people forget is that they also treat. Sheet masks are soaked in ampoule or essence which are essentially designed to treat various skin concerns, which means that if you choose the right ingredients you can not only hydrate the skin but help banish some of your other skin concerns, in this case, blackheads. For that I recommend you to get your hands on the [Klairs] Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask a sheet mask that is not only hydrating and soothing but which also helps treat blemishes and balance the sebum production due to some of its main ingredients.[Klairs] Midnight Blue Calming Sheet MaskTea tree oil is a great antiseptic and oil balancing ingredient that will help reduce excessive sebum production, which together with Erythritol an ingredient able to quickly lower the skin’s temperature will bring great results.

What does low skin temperature have to do with any of this?

The fact that skin tends to react by overproducing oil when skin temperature rises is the main cause. Which is the reason why we tend to get more oily and more easily congested over the summer. You might be thinking: Ahhh!!!! it all makes sense now. Yep, so make sure to try to keep your skin temperature on the lower side.

Light Or Heavy?

Last but not least, even with blackheads we can not forget the moisturizer, but to avoid any extra pore blocking, we should aim to stay with ingredients with similar functions to the above-mentioned ones.[I'm From] Vitamin Tree Water GelThat is why for this step my recommendation is the [I'm From] Vitamin Tree Water Gel a moisturizer designed especially for oilier and easily congested skin types since it not only gets absorbed easily into the skin (avoiding the before mentioned product residue) but also due to its purifying properties.
