@funskincare Approved Mugwort Cream I'm From Review

by Claudia Christin on Nov 22, 2020

I’m From is well-known for its high quality sourced plant-based ingredients in their product, especially for their mugwort line way before it was such a big trend in K-beauty. I still clearly remember the first time I got my hands on their Mugwort wash-off mask, I fell in love with the first application and I have finished almost four jars of it by the time this post is up. Therefore, when they launched a cream from their Mugwort line, I was so excited to try them out. Here is my review for the I’m From Mugwort Cream on my oily-combination skin. Mugwort Cream Review Cover

Packaging & Ingredients

The product comes in a simple yet elegant petite 50ml glass jar. First, let’s take a deeper look into their main ingredients, mugwort, and what’s so special about it. Mugwort is regarded as a healing herb that has been used in the Korean culture for years. You can find it in a lot of dishes, beverages, and also traditional herbal medication in Korea. It has this signature herbal-like and therapeutic scent to it.  Mugwort Cream Review Packaging The I’m From Mugwort cream is formulated with 73.55% of mugwort extract that is harvested from Ganghwa Island in Korea. The mugwort was extracted through a slow-release extraction process at low temperature to help preserve the nutrients and benefit of the mugwort plant extract. Mugwort itself is well-known for its soothing properties. It can help calm down irritation or redness on your skin. So, it is suitable for anyone with even sensitive skin and a compromised skin barrier.  On top of that, there are some other notable ingredients with wondrous skin benefit:• Emollient: Shea butter, glycerin  Ingredients that will hug your skin and give that protection from moisture loss.• Soothing ingredients: panthenol, allantoin These are the ingredients that will boost the product's calming effect on the skin.• Antioxidant: soybean ferment extract, evening primrose flower extracts We can’t get enough antioxidants and the more is always the merrier.

Texture, scent & finish

This product has a light airy gel-cream consistency to it, thus a little goes a long way with it. It almost feels buttery as you scoop it out, but burst and melt like water once it touches the skin. The water content in it leaves a refreshing and cooling sensation and it takes just a few seconds for it to finally set on the skin and leave that layer of moisture.  mugwort cream texture image As you applied the product to your face, you can smell the subtle signature mugwort scent which I personally really enjoy and appreciate. It will take you to that spa-like experience which makes it the perfect scent to either start or end the day. They are not particularly as strong as the mask and dissipates pretty quickly.  Despite it leaving a layer of moisture protection, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. The moisture it gives is just perfect for my skin type at the moment. However, for those with drier skin type, you may want to layer the product (they are easy to layer with) two times to double up that moisture protection. It doesn’t leave my skin looking like a grease-ball in the middle of the day and also blends well with my sunscreen or other skincare product.

How it applies and how to use:

I think this product is great for just about any time all year round, and also day or night. The consistency makes it a very versatile product and easy to play around with any time throughout the year. Especially with their light and non-greasy finish, you can just layer it with any products or use it as a stand-alone product when the weather is changing.  mugwort cream review texture In the morning, I like to use this product right after my serum and before my sunscreen. While at night, I just like to use it to seal everything in on my very last skincare step.

Final verdict:

I have a really high expectation of the product and it definitely doesn’t disappoint me. I personally have been really enjoying the Mugwort cream. Not only that the texture feels amazing (light-weight and cooling) but the scent smells really therapeutic and amazing as well. On top of that, it really does help calm down any irritation and redness on my skin. As someone who likes to try out new products, I have to always have that one ride-or-die product I have to keep on my stash to calm down my skin whenever it is acting up. This one has to be one of them, the emergency kit that I have to keep at any time. The one that I can always rely on and come back to. If you are like me, who love their other mugwort line products (essence, wash-off mask), I think most likely, you’re going to love this one mugwort cream. First, you can’t go wrong with the texture because it is so lightweight and versatile that almost every skin type can benefit from.
