4 Types of Skin Toner Recommendations
According to what skin type and skin condition you have, different skin toner will work best for you. So take a look at 4 different toners appeared on the live streaming and take your pick!1) All skin types (or dry skin): Stick to the basics
Like mentioned in the previous article on the basics of skin toner (click here to see the full article), skin toner should serve as the very first step of hydrating the skin after the cleansing step. So most of the skin toner will serve the purpose of moisturizing the skin and prepping the skin for the next step. But remember, not all toners are gentle and hydrating at the same time. If you are new to skin toner, or if you just need one that will fully serve the purpose of an ideal skin toner, get hands on a skin toner that is not too thick or heavy but still very hydrating. Also, the more you layer the merrier to your skin, so look for a skin toner that absorbs effectively.
2) Sensitive skin, extremely sensitive skin: Without any essential oil
For those with sensitive skin, especially those with extremely sensitive skin condition, it becomes tough to pick the right skin care product that will not irritate your skin. All you want is zero irritation but calming and soothing effect. Since skin toner also serves the purpose of soothing the skin after cleansing and before any other skin care steps, it is neccessary even during sensitive skin condition. But extremely sensitive skin can even react to essential oil! So for those skin that are even sensitive to the slightest essential oil, go for an essential oil free skin toner.
3) Oily skin (or those living in humid environment): Go lighter and lighter
Who would want anything heavy slathered onto the skin when you have oily skin or is out in the humid condition? The lighter the more comfortable your skin will feel when oil is a problem. However, when I say light, one rule stays the same. Hydration. Never forget to get hands on a skin toner that is still hydrating and can devlier moisture deep into the skin. Don't forget that your skin can be oily but still dehydrated in the deeper layer.
4) Acne prone skin (or troubled skin): Ingredient is the key
Gotu Kola, Centella Asiatica or teca. However you wish to call it, it is one of the most popular ingredient that skin with acne adores. (Or anyone with troubles or irritation adores). It's known for its calming and soothing effect, so why not look for it in a skin toner if acne is a concern for you right now? Hydrate, prep and calm the skin in your very first step of your skin care and move on to the next steps.
