What to use for dry, but unbalanced skin

by Claudia Christin on Feb 21, 2024

Have you ever experienced dry-inside, oily-outside skin? You are not alone! Your skin might be having a dehydration, thus the unbalanced skin condition.

We understand that this is such an ambiguous state and we have to be extra cautious on what we put on our skin. Even though our skin might look rough and uneven outside, thanks to the blackhead and pimples. The truth is, our skin is in its weakest state inside! Or as we may say, your skin barrier is most probably being compromised!

Using skincare products that help tackle blackheads and pimples but further dries our skin is the least desirable thing.

Here’s some skincare routine tips for dry-unbalanced skin with black head and pimples on the cheek

1. Cleanse your skin properly

Occasionally use a gentle face wash with exfoliating benefit. Your skin still needs to be exfoliated even though it's unbalanced. Seek for an exfoliator that is gentle yet effective to wash off skin impurities and remove dead skin cells.

Stay away from choosing products that can leave your skin even drier than before. Remember that squeaky clean skin does not equal to a clean and healthy skin barrier!

2. Minimal skincare, maximum benefit

Search for an all-rounder product that can hydrate, exfoliate and soothe at the same time. Sounds like too good to be true? Then you might want to try it yourself! This Licorice pad from I’m from works like wonder.

Packed with 87% Licorice root extract, it helps soothe irritated unbalanced skin while providing gentle exfoliation and deep hydration and moisture into the skin.

Licorice root extract is also proven to work as an anti-inflammatory and work to help repair skin barrier.

3. Browse and learn your product’s ingredient list

Opt for products with hydrating, nourishing and calming ingredients. When your skin is dry and unbalanced, it is best to seek for products that can provide enough hydration but don't leave a greasy finish.

It is also important to pay attention to the ingredients so it can help tackle the issue from the inside as well.
