Hydrating Toner Recommendation, 2019 Updated Version

by Wendy Kim on Nov 04, 2019

Remember the "8 Toner Recommendations to Live For" where we introduced a good selection of hydrating toner recommendation you can find on Wishtrend? It has been a great guideline for skincare newbies and those who were struggling to find the perfect skin hydrating toner. But it only made sense to come up with the 2019 updated version since there has been plenty of new additions on Wishtrend in the facial toner category! This time, I’ve categorized them according to different types based on some of the concerns many of you would have regarding toners. So,see which one rings a bell and give it a nice try and see how skin feels!

Type A. I empty my toner too fast…

if you are Type A, it means that you are someone who really makes sure that skin is prepped and sufficiently hydrated after cleansing. You are the type of person who will never dry out your skin. You don’t like the skin pulling feeling after the shower and don't like skin feeling bare without any layer of hydration after the shower. So the very first thing you do once you step out of the shower is making sure to splash or sprtiz a good layer of toner. Sometimes it takes you less than a month to use up a new bottle of toner! But you still want to stay in budget and save money... Well, here are two toner recommendations to help solve your toner dilemma!

Solution A. 500ml Jumbo sized green tea and cucumber toner!

Well. let's first talk about the size! It comes in 500ml! Yes, you heard it right, 500ml! This jumbo sized alcohol free toner is a water-like hydrating toner with no viscosity (unlike your favorite toner from Klairs, the Supple Preparation Facial Toner). This light toner can be used daily morning and night and no matter how much you splurge it, it'll take longer to finish a bottle compared to any other types of toner! It is suitable as the very first step of your skincare after cleansing to remove any residue remaining on the skin but also to add a refreshing layer of hydration.[caption id="attachment_147839" align="alignleft" width="768"]hydrating toner recommendation insert image [Klairs] Daily Skin Water Set[/caption]

Type B. I like toners that are as good as serums...

If you are struggling with dry skin, toners with great hydrating property and with viscosity will work best for the skin. Adding a good layer of hydration onto the skin will not only add a nice first layer of hydration after cleansing but also prep the skin for the next hydrating ingredients be better absorbed into the skin. So not only if you have dry skin but on days when your skin feel extra dry and dehydrated, it is best to go for a toner with more viscosity and with ingredients like beta-glucan

Solution B. Sometimes, OGs are the best!

There's a reason why the Klairs Supple Preapration Toner duo has been the best selling toner on Wishtrend for quite some time now. The orinigal toner with great level of hydration and the unscented version without any essential oil, both have great reviews regardless of skin types but most importantly been praised among those with acne prone skin. They are both great for ph balancing the skin and will add a great layer of first hydration in your skincare routine (whether used as a regular toner or as an essence of sheet mask when used with your cotton pads).[caption id="attachment_60904" align="alignleft" width="768"]hydrating toner recommendation insert image 2 Click onto the image for details[/caption]

Type C. I am a face mist lover...

Do you carry around face mists? Or do you at least have a bottle of face mist on your work desk? Face hydrating mists share similar formulas and function with facial toners, yet it comes in more handy when it comes to application (especially if you just stepped out of the shower). If you live and die for making life easier and if you love the feeling of the spritz on your face, you might want to resort to facial mists. HOWEVER, not all facial mists are the same! There are different ingredients, different formulas and different effects. Many are simply water based yet for enhanced moisture level and retention on the skin, look for mists based with hydrating ingredients such as "green tea".

Solution C. Not just a mist, an AMPULE MIST!

The Fundamental Ampule Mist is a Green Tea Water based mist, formulated with rice, cucumbers, okra, and mugwort which is effective for intensive hydration and antioxidant care. With the premium formulation, the ampule mist provides high nutrients to the skin for the skin to shine and look dewy with couple spritz. It also locks in the moisture without any layering for a long-lasting hydration deep within the skin. Long story short, it's a mist but works as good as an ampule!hydrating toner recommendation insert image 3
